Are you kidding me?!?!?

Yesterday morning was just like any other morning... Cohen and I were eating breakfast in the kitchen, Cohen was on the bar stool at the counter and I had just put Molly down in her bed upstairs in my room. When he was finished, I went to the sink to get a washcloth to wipe him off. I turn on the faucet, and while i was waiting for the water to warm up, I walked out to the garage to turn the sprinklers on. I start to open the door to come back in the house, when to my surprise, THE DOOR WAS LOCKED! My heart started to race, and I started panicking. I open the garage door, and run to the front door... NOPE, locked as well. WHAT THE HECK AM I SUPPOSED TO DO NOW?!?!?! I go to the door that goes into the house through the garage, and start talking to Cohen. the distance from that door to where Cohen was sitting, is about four feet... And Cohen doesn't know how to get down off the stool. And he also has no idea how to open a door. So I'm standing there trying to tell Cohen to slide off his chair, and come open the door. Yeah, didn't work too well. I honestly had no idea what the heck I was going to do. So I got into the car, and found one of those Smith's plastic cards, thinking I'll just jimmy the door... yeah, didn't do a darn thing. I ran around the house checking all the windows... NOTHING! I was seriously so frantic. i guess it's a good thing that it's impossible to get into our house! :)

*side note.... our door knobs are soooo stupid... whoever was the genius behind putting those on HOUSE doors, was a true idiot. Not kidding. cause if the door is locked, but you go to open it, it opens... just not from the front. So i didn't think that door was locked, since I could obviously open it. but on the other side, it is locked.*

So then I figured i should go to a neighbors and use their phone. I tell the lady what happens, and she lets me use her phone. I call Jeff... no answer. I call him again... no answer. again... NO ANSWER! I tried him 8 times. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO! The lady didn't have any ideas either. I actually thought of calling the fire department. So then I was thinking, maybe there was one of Jeff's business cards in our car, since there's like a thousand of them laying around the house, thinking I'll just call his work number.

So i check on Cohen, and by this time he's crying. It was absolutely heart breaking. he probably thought I just left him. He was stuck on the stool... with no one around. Ah... just so sad. I start talking to him, acting like nothing's wrong, hoping he won't be scared, or sad. THAT WAS IT, I was going to call the fire department to get me into my house!!!!!!!!!!
I run back to the neighbors, and decide to call Jeff one more time. and he doesn't answer, I'm calling the fire department.... HE ANSWERED!!! hallelujah!!!!!!!!
"YOU NEED TO COME HOME NOW!!!"
"why?"
"CAUSE I'M LOCKED OUT THE HOUSE, AND COHEN'S CRYING!!!!!"
"Did you check the front door?"
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! GET HOME!!!"

So while I was waiting for Jeff, I sat on the step crying, talking to Cohen. He was still crying. I tried singing songs, asking him what animals say, trying to have him tell me about Buzz Lightyear... NOTHING worked. it was sooooooooooo heart breaking. THIS was the worst feeling in the whole world!
Finally Jeff pulls up. I run over and get his keys, go unlock the door, run in and grab my little boy and we just sat on the couch crying and holding each other! Then I hear Jeff in the kitchen ask, "why's the water on???" oh brother.......

Luckily Molly was sleeping this whole time. The rest of the morning, Cohen wouldn't leave my site. He gave me sooo many loves! Oh my sweet little Cohen buns. I am sooo thankful it was not as bad as it could've been.

Oh, Jen, I am so sorry you had to go through that! What a scary time. I bet that not only did Cohen not want to leave you after that, I bet you didn't want to let him out of YOUR sight, huh? you are such a good momma.

BTW.........Molly is so darling! I loved the blessing dresses and the stories even more. Way to record Family History!
