my life these days...

Well it's been a while since I've actually wrote something on here. Almost a month! Every time I try to sit down and write something, or post pictures, Cohen seems to think he's hungry! So we'll see how far I can get tonight!

It's still unbelievably crazy to me that I'm a mom. That I'm responsible for this tiny child! And I can't believe it was almost a month ago when I was in labor! This past month has been pretty surreal. The first week, Jeff's mom was in town to pretty much take care of me, so I could get used to taking care of someone else! :) It was wonderful having her here, and I think I took it for granted, cause our house is an absolute mess now and our fridge is not quite as full as when it was when she was here!!

Cohen and I have definitely had a hard time with the nursing. In fact, I got a breast infection a little bit ago. And that was NOT fun. I thought I had been hit by a car, and then thrown off a cliff and dragged down the street a few times. But after a few days, of my mom taking care of me, my house and my baby, I was able to get better! The nursing is going a lot better now! I never thought it was going to be THIS challenging. I definitely envy those moms that can just lift up their shirt, and their child just latches right on. Hopefully that will be me soon!

Cohen has definitely been a challenge - especially at night. But man oh man he is the best possible thing that has ever happened to me. When he's napping, I go and peek in on him, and just looking at him takes my breath away. He is such a sweetheart!!

I'll try to get on here more with more updates as they come. Oh, the last time we weighed him was on thursday... and he weighed 9 lbs 8 oz. So he's gained one pound since birth!!

I am so excited... Luke and Jenny bought me a plane ticket to come see them in New Mexico in less than a month!! I am sooooo excited to see Gwen and Jeffer! And I'm soooo excited for Luke and Jenny to see their first nephew!! It will be a great trip! So thanks you guys! I can't wait!

oh, one last thing..... Why is Cohen such a hard name for people to understand?! Everyone thinks I'm saying something different like Colin, or Collin, or something else! It's so silly. But I guess it could happen with a lot of names.

Okay, that's all for now. Cohen just woke up... and I can hear him grunting! :)

Okay, all I have to say is kudos to you for actually admitting that the adjustment is hard but totally worth it and not just smiling and pretending like you're invincible! Also, you so get a gold star for sticking with the nursing- many women would have given up! Go you!

Being a mom is the best thing ever huh! Don't worry about the breast feeding stuff, I had a REALLY hard time with it two for about a month. It gets better just hang in there, and if your not dropping the F bomb when he does finally latch on you're doing a lot better than I was! I hope you come and visit soon! We can have a play date for the "kids" wink wink! Anyway cheris every moment cause they grow up way too fast!

I love seeing all the pictures of COhen. He is getting so darn big. It is making me sad to think about how fast they are going to grow up. We will definitely have to get together soon. Let me know when you are free. I miss having you so close! Keep up the blog. I was so surprised at how easy it was to do and fun as well. I'm glad that we can keep in touch at least in some way. Plus I want to throw another party soon...
